HOW NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY SESSIONS WORK

Newborn shoots are best suited for babies between 5 days and 21 days old.

Your newborn shoot is an investment. I will supply everything you require for your shoots, so all you need to do is come along and relax. All newborn sessions are done in my small but cozy and warm studio. You should book your newborn session in at the 20 week scan to ensure a date is in the diary.

Is my deposit deducted from the balance?

Yes, your deposit will be deducted from the final balance on the day of the shoot.

When should I book my newborn session?

First of all, congratulations!!! You should book your newborn session as early as possible, the 20 week scan is perfect as there are only a limited number of sessions each month to give my expecting mums some flexibility. The best time to photograph your newborn is between 7-14 days, this is when your baby is most sleepy and able to stay in curled poses. Sometimes unexpected and unforeseen circumstances prevent this time range, baby sessions can still go ahead up to 3 months. At this stage your baby will be more alert and sleepy poses are not always guaranteed. I will ask you to keep me posted of any update of your forthcoming birth. After making your booking you will be sent a guide of how to prepare for your shoot.

How long does the shoot last and what if my baby doesn’t sleep?

The shoots can vary from 2-4 hours depending on baby’s feeding and settling. All newborn sessions are baby led. Nothing is guaranteed with babies but rest assured we will get some beautiful images. The studio is heated very warm to keep baby comfortable and hopefully sleepy!

Who can come with me to the session?

The studio is small and as newborn shoots are so long, small children will become bored very quickly. To get the best out of the session with minimal noise and maximum space to work siblings can attend for family shots and then it is advisable that after the family shots are taken your someone is on hand to take the sibling/s outside or home while we finish the shoot.

What newborn baby training have you had?

The safety of your newborn is my first priority. I have invested in training over the years with several of the UK ’s leading newborn photographers learning the ways of safely posing your baby.

What does the newborn session include?

Consultation to discuss your session and preparation
Access to all outfits, wraps and props

Where is your studio?
